Blog Tag

My niece Angie Cothran tagged me on her blog. I will answer the following question and then tag 8 off my blogging friends. Here goes!

1. Do you think you are hott?
No. I'm passably cute. Not hott. Big difference. Maybe it's a mind set. If I think I'm hott, then I am hott. I  think I'll give it a try.

2. Upload a picture or wallpaper you are using at the moment.

My granddaughter Brittin. I might be biased, but I think she is adorable. :)

3. When was the last time you ate chicken?
I have actually eaten chicken the past two nights. Chicken Tacos and Chicken Alfredo. The best thing about eating these chicken dishes is the fact that I didn't have to cook either of them! Thanks Paige and Jordan.

4. The song you listened to most recently.
I listened to Phil Collin's greatest hits CD yesterday on my trip to Afton. He's one of my favorites. I love his music.

5. What were you thinking as you were doing this?
I shouldn't have asked Angie to tag me. :)

6. Do you have any nicknames? What are they?
Yes. And I wear it proudly. "Risa Diva With An Attitude". Jayme Manning my daughter's good friend called me this for the first time about 5 years ago and it stuck. It has many variations. "Risa Dive With A 'Tude",  "Diva" and a meshing to "Riva".

7. Tag 8 blogger friends.
1. Melissa Jones
2. Macey Jones
3. Sarah Roylance
4. Kristi Jones
5. Kiley Pierce
6. Amanda Jones
7. Madison Manning
8. Rylee Manning

Tag! You're it!

I Love My Nat-Bones

Natalie was born 22 years ago today. She came into the world on a hot summer evening. We drove her home from the hospital in our new red Hyundai. (We still own that car!) I was so excited when the doctor announced that she was a girl! Every mother wants at least one, and I scored a daughter on my second try!  She was a quiet, peaceful baby and toddler and a very shy child. She made up for that when she was a teenager.:)

Natalie has grown into a lovely woman, sister and wife, and now is a mother with a daughter of her own. Shortly after she was married Bryce called and said, "Who is this girl? She's not the sister I was raised with!" She has many personal strengths such as her peaceful nature, acceptance of others and patience. She contributes with the cooking and cleaning when she is at home. I really appreciate that about her.

Fun Facts About Natalie
Her nick-name is Nat-Bones.
 Natalie went to kindergarten twice.
She loves to eat meat! (Can I have a bowl of chicken?)
She always wins when playing games, because she cheats!
She was born in California
Natalie loves to run.
Natalie had a 6 week courtship before she became engaged.
She has natural curly hair, which she hates.
She takes very long showers.
She slept through the night at 3 weeks.
She has one speed: Slow.
Natalie hates to answer the door and talk on the phone.
Once at a dance competition, the top of her costume fell off. She finished the dance with a smile.

The rewards of Motherhood are few and far between. I am reaping them now.
Happy 22nd Birthday Nat-Bones

Rumor Has It

Yep. The Greenwoods are moving. Jeff has accepted a 6th grade teaching position with the Lincoln County School District in Afton, Wyoming. It is a bitter-sweet time for us. We are excited for the new opportunities that await us, but feel sad to leave behind the friends and family that we love so much.

We are moving to the big city! Afton's population is 1800 compared to Malta's population of 171. There are also my luxuries and conveniences we are looking forward to in our new home town such as a grocery store, public library, dollar store and a Pizza Hut! Here is a peek our our new town. We will keep you posted of our comings and goings this summer.

Does this mean I have to buy a pair of cowboy boots? Just asking.

Sick And Tired

I don't like to hear people complain, and I try not to do much of it myself. But can I just say that I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!

I have been feeling under the weather since about the second week in of May. Ugh. I am totally convinced that I have mono. Or something else just as terrible. I could sleep all the time. I don't, but I could. After the better part of three weeks in bed, I'm out, for the most part. But whenever I stop, I sleep.

I think my body is just responding to the recent stress level in my life. The marriage of a daughter, the surgery and recovery of another and the possibility of relocating for a new job were just too much for me I think. I guess I am not "Superwoman" after all.

You all know that I am an avid herbs and vitamins type of girl. Well, that has temporarily changed. I've resorted to chemical healing. Or I should say "chemical induced  sleep so I don't cough up a lung every night" healing.  NyQuil is my new best friend. Seriously. I take two gel-caps every night, so I can sleep and not cough all night. I'm not proud of it, but it's true.

Recently I told a friend, "I feel like I wake up in the morning with a hang-over." They replied, "You feel like you have a hang-over because you do have a hang-over." Jeff says that I snore when I take it. I don't even care. Hang-over, snoring, it's all worth a good nights sleep.

I think I'll live.
I hope NyQuil is not addictive.

Fifty Never Looked So Good

Happy 50th birthday to my handsome husband!  Jeff is one of the kindest men that I know. He loves people and they love him. Kids and teenagers relate well with him and he can talk to them about anything.  He is a great father and husband. Jeff is half a century and still going strong!

50 never looked so good!
I love you Jeff

Twenty-Three Candles

The Birthday Boy!
The Greenwood family gives a shout big shout out today to Mitch. Happy Birthday! We are so glad that you walked into Marissa's apartment 9 months ago while she was eating oatmeal, and swept her off her feet. The rest, they say, is history! Thanks for loving her and taking a chance on her crazy family. We appreciate that you are willing to share your strengths with us and make our family better.

Mitch promises to always love & obey his mother in-law
(or is taking an oath while getting his marriage license)

Crazy fun at Mitch and Marissa's apartment

Our favorite memories of Mitch:

Risa: Family scripture study during the State Basketball tournament.  I loved seeing that side of you.
Jeff: Hearing your testimony the Sunday after you and Marissa were married.
Hailey: You cheering for me at my State Volleyball and State Basketball games.
Bryce: Our road trip to the BYU football game. It was fun to hang out with you and get to know you.
Max: Being your partner and dominating the pumpkin carving contest.
Natalie: Your first (and probably last) dose of vinegar and ginger at mom's house.
Paige: Building a snowman with you, Marissa, and Hailey.

We wish we were spending your big day with you!
Eat a piece of cake for us.
We love you!

P.S. Your gift is in the mail. :) Really.
